The blessing of the tribe of Asher from Deuteronomy 33:24-25: "Most blessed of sons is Asher; Let him be favored by his brothers, And let him bathe his feet in oil. The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days."

Annette and I moved to San Antonio in August of 1993. We were being reassigned to Kelly Air Force Base. At that point in my life, I was as far away from a relationship with Christ as anyone could be. In fact, I didn't even know what was meant by a "relationship with Christ". I grew up in the Episcopal Church and Annette in a Pentecostal Church. I had grown up with many addictions to things of the world; material things, alcohol, nicotine, and the like. When I joined the Air Force in 1982, I began traveling quite often. My job kept me away from home about 300 days a year. We lived like this for the first 5 years of our marriage. The Word says that "He who finds a wife finds a good thing" is truly exemplified in Annette. I call her my Proverbs 31 wife and she is!

When we got to San Antonio and got settled into a house, Annette gave me an ultimatum…"Get your life right or else." You have 2 children and a wife that need a father and a husband". We had heard of Cornerstone through a friend of Annette's so we decided to go and see. It was an experience that I had never had before and I wasn't sure that I ever wanted again. It was far off from what I had known. Late one afternoon, a couple from the church came by the house to visit. I was in no mood to visit with anyone, but they didn't turn away, nor did they get their feelings hurt. They spoke with Annette for a while and then left. Smiling as they left, the told me they hoped to see us the next Sunday. I stood frozen in my tracks, unable to respond. We have never seen them again and believe that was a divine appointment. To this day, we believe that they were sent by the Lord just for us.

To make a long story short, 2 weeks later Pastor preached a sermon on the Great White Throne Judgment and that's the day I game my life to the Lord. The second best thing to happen that day is that my wife came to the altar with me, to support me. You see, my wife and her best friend had been praying behind my back, so I really never had a chance.

Since that day, our lives have been completely transformed and restored! There has not been a drop of alcohol in my life since that day, I was delivered from it the minute I received Jesus Christ as my Savior. The generational curses of alcoholism and divorce have been shattered in my family. We can truthfully say that we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. For by the grace of God alone, there go I.

Today, we serve as Asher's tribe leaders and we encourage you to come and be a part of Asher and the Government of 12. We have a cell just for you and we look forward to serving you!
