Tribe of AsherTribe Leaders: Norman & Tujwanda Trail
"And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher". Asher means Happy, how fitting a name for a tribe where we are indeed happy to open the doors of our home and our hearts and our lives to all those who wish to join us. Tujwanda and I met in Virginia while I was serving in the United States Air Force. At that time neither one of us had devoted our lives to Christ. We met in 1994, and fell in love through pen and paper. Throughout the two years we dated, I was deployed overseas three times and kept in touch by writing letters. We married in 1996, at that time we did not know that the Lord always has a plan and a purpose for our lives. After being married for less than a year, we received military orders to San Antonio, Texas. In 1997, I didn’t believe that things could get any worse. Looking back I realize that it was me who couldn’t get any worse, Tujwanda said to me, "If you don’t change, then I’m leaving" and she had biblical justifications to do just that. The following day we went to church and prayed the prayer of salvation, and since that cold night in February 1998, we have serving the Lord and standing on his promises. Tujwanda and I said, "If God is real we have nothing to lose and everything to gain". Shortly after that time my mother-in-law advised us to find Cornerstone Church and attend a service. She was familiar with Cornerstone Church because she watched Pastor on television for several years. I still remember the first sermon that I heard Pastor Hagee preach on that Sunday morning. He preached from a series titled "Knowing God". Ever since we began attending Cornerstone Church in the fall of 1998 we have been blessed by the sermons, teachings, and ministries we have received under the leadership of Pastors John and Matthew Hagee. Since we started attending Cornerstone we have been actively involved in church ministries. I began as an usher and Tujwanda as a Sunday school teacher. As a couple we serve as facilitators and mentors for Marriage Intimacy and Parenting classes, allowing us to share the goodness of God and how life is a blessing when you add God into the equation. It has been a privilege to be a staff member of Cornerstone Church; God truly had a plan when we received military orders to San Antonio. It is a joy to watch our son Derek and daughter Jordan grow in the Lord. It has been a blessing for our children to receive an education at Cornerstone Christian Schools. Derek is now sharing the Word of God to pre-school aged children through Early Childhood Education puppet ministry. Jordan spreads the Word inviting neighborhood children to church activities from Vacation Bible School to Sunday Morning Services. Before becoming leaders of the Tribe of Asher we served as cell leaders in the Tribe of Zebulun under the leadership of Dr. Scott and Sandy Farhart. The Tribe of Asher is full of loving families and singles that have graciously opened their homes to share the Word of God. Leaders in Asher participate in local and international outreaches to share the love of God. It is a privilege and honor to walk as Leaders of the fabulous Tribe of Asher. We welcome you to our homes.
