Tribe of EphraimTribe Leaders: Terry & Dana Yaklin"Arise, Shine Ephraim - The Glory and exceeding abundance of the Father of Lights is yours to receive and yours to give!"
Dana and I grew up in south Texas and met each other while attending college at Texas A&I University in Kingsville now known as A&M Kingsville. I worked as a shop welder and farm hand on the King Ranch to pay for my college while Dana worked as a hostess in a sea food restaurant. My father, who accepted Christ when I was thirteen, made it a point to constantly preach the gospel to us. We listened occasionally to be respectful but our focus was more on the thrills of college life and beginning a career. I graduated from college in 1989. Dana and I married in 1990 and moved to Lubbock, Texas and then to Oklahoma City. After two years of marriage, God was not a priority in our lives and we couldn’t figure out why life was such a struggle. Traveling back to south Texas during the holidays would direct us through San Antonio coming and going. We both agreed that San Antonio would be a great place to live. Little did we know, it was all part of God’s plan. In 1993, God gave us the desires of our hearts with a great job here in San Antonio. We moved here with our one-year-old son Dustin and a year later our daughter Lauren was born. With our new family, we worked hard to achieve all the things we dreamed possible but, without God in our lives, nothing seemed to work out as we planned. The harder we worked the less we had and our marriage was headed straight to the divorce court. In 1996, everything turned around for us when my brother came to visit us and tricked us into going to Cornerstone Church. The sermon that day was "The Power of Two." We joined hands that day and prayed together for the first time. Three weeks later the Holy Spirit led me to attend Cornerstone again, and I came out of that service a changed man. Sin was now disgusting to me and the crowd I hung around with knew it. Dana received salvation soon after and we started attending a home ministry group, where we made connections and relationships that are still a blessing to us today. We became members of Cornerstone where we grew spiritually in phenomenal ways. In 1998, we began hosting a Cell Group in our home and have done so ever since. Our children have grown up and have been trained in the ways they should go. They are serving the Lord as well, inviting high school friends and teens to attend our Cell Group. In September of 2010, Dana and I were asked to serve as Tribe Leaders for the Tribe of Ephraim. We humbly accepted and we look forward to training and growing the Tribe of Ephraim to be soul winners for the glory of God. God is so good. His love can make the vilest sinner clean. He proved that when Dana and I accepted Him. We praise Him daily for our salvation, our children and for every wonderful blessing that he has given us. We invite you to visit a Cell Group within the Tribe of Ephraim, as we study the Word and praise the Awesome God whom we serve. There is no greater joy than to see the lost come to Christ!
