REV 7.9

On Friday night, May 13th in the new Cornerstone Praise Center, the Impact High School Youth Ministry together with our church’s Fusion Middle School, Youth Ministry and Emerge College & Career Ministry, hosted a Citywide Youth & Young Adult Night called “REV 7.9” that was truly awesome!

But what’s “REV 7.9”?
“REV 7.9” is an informal co-op of inter-denominational churches throughout the city of San Antonio that volunteer to host a youth rally on the second Friday of each month. “REV 7.9” is based on Revelation 7:9 which says:

"After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands."

The “REV 7.9” rallies are free and open to all middle school, high school and college students. The goal of these rallies is to unite youth to Christ, to each other and to the cause of seeing a great awakening take place in these generations here in our city and beyond.

With this said, we can truly say the mission was accomplished that night, as over 900 youth and young adults from all over San Antonio, San Marcos, Austin and even Houston came together for a night of worship, special music, God’s Word and a response time at the altar. Without a doubt, hundreds of lives of youth and young adults were impacted by God’s grace and truth!

On that night, we were so blessed to have Christian music bands such as Abandon, The Reliques, Tera Ferna and our very own Impact Worship Band, 424,minister in song to this generation. We were also blessed to have Keith Robinson of The Emerge Experience minister God’s Word to this generation.

Last, but not least, it was so great to have KLOVE & AIR1 Radio with us. They used their radio and Internet influence to help draw hundreds of youth and young adults from all over to this amazing night.

With the help of our dear friends from the Boulevard Student Ministries at Westover Hills Assembly of God Church, we were able to live stream this night on the Internet to at least 800 viewers throughout our city and beyond. With that in mind, we know this night reached over 1,700 people, both in person and through the Internet. Praise Jesus!

The night culminated with a challenge we gave to all of the youth and young adults, now is the time for this generation to rise up into full view on their school campuses and over the summer prepare to take their campus ministry to the next level in the upcoming school year. It was awesome to see and hear hundreds of students respond to God’s call on their lives and declare their commitment to Jesus Christ to be a light on their campuses. Our expectation is that the next school year will be one to go down in history as one of the most prominent school years in which Christian students shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their peers and witnessed their generation be drawn to Jesus Christ.

We ask you to join us in praying for the same and celebrating both what God did on Friday, May 13th and what He will do in the coming 2011-2012 school year.

In Christ,
Peter & Mildred De Jesus
