Heed And Obey

In Ephesians 4:11-12 we read, “And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

Our pastors are a gift from the Lord to equip and edify us. I believe Pastor Hagee is a prophet as well as a pastor. He receives warnings and directions from the Holy Spirit for the body of Christ.

What we do with these warnings and directions is up to each one of us. He is like the Old Testament prophets God sent to warn the Israelites.

Unfortunately, they usually did not heed the warnings and ended up in all kinds of trouble. Are we listening to the prophets God has given us?

God doesn’t want us to be in the dark about coming events. He wants us to be equipped and ready. He doesn’t want us to be in fear about the future or to put our head in the sand. God wants us to listen and do our part, while He does His.

Are you heeding the voice of our pastor? Amos 3:7 says, “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” The prophet Amos was warning of coming judgments to nations. Isaiah 48:18, “Oh that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river.”

It is up to us to “heed” and obey.

Join the Women of Esther on Wednesday in the chapel for worship, intercessory prayer and Bible study. Come pray with us for our families, our church and city, the Body of Christ, our nation and the nations of the world. Prayer CAN make a difference! Childcare is available.
