The city of San Antonio is facing a crisis of leadership. This crisis of leadership was recently exposed when the San Antonio City Council voted against allowing Chick-Fil-A to conduct business in the San Antonio Airport.
This decision is a violation of religious freedom. City Council made this decision, as published in the San Antonio Express, because Chick-Fil-A was not sensitive to or inclusive of what they deemed as appropriate sexual standards.
This is discrimination pure and simple. City Council voted to ban Chick-Fil-A from the airport because the company donated to the Fellowship of Christians Athletes and the Salvation Army. I can't think of two finer organizations in America.
The decision to reject Chick-Fil-A is a national embarrassment to our city. This decision is not only out of step with Texas values, but inconsistent with the Constitution of the United States and Texas law.
I was invited to City Hall to address this issue but was not permitted to speak. NOW IS THE TIME TO SPEAK! GO VOTE! Let your voice be heard. If your city councilman voted against Chick-Fil-A, they don't deserve your vote. EARLY VOTING BEGINS TODAY! Let's send a message to City Hall that they will not soon forget.
This Sunday morning, I am going to present a teaching sermon on "Israel: God’s Gateway to Blessing!"
I look forward to seeing you Sunday morning at Cornerstone.
